front wheel offset

Within iRacing.com's service, the Legends cars have a setting called "front wheel offset." Perhaps this was best explained by Mike Kelley in the iRacing.com Member Forums[1]:

"I think the 5/8ths offset is a spacer that is put on the RF hub that moves the wheel out 5/8ths of an inch. Tightens the car up generally speaking, especially into and off the corner. Will make it roll through the corner worse if you are already tight.
Different wheel offsets are a major tuning device in oval racing for cars with limited setup adjustments. I think the legends are only allowed to use standard offset OEM wheels, so the 5/8ths spacer is one tool they have given them."
